With its moderate temperature and laid-back appeal, Darjeeling, located in North East India just south of Sikkim, provides the ideal ambiance of a hill resort. Its beautiful hills and valleys are awash in colour, and large swaths of rolling green tea plantations dot the landscape. Mt. Kangchenjunga, the world's third tallest mountain, looms over the northern horizon, imbuing the country with a magnificent atmosphere that leaves one's senses intoxicated.
